A gold version of the BlackBerry Passport made the rounds in live photos. The images reveal BlackBerry’s freshly launched flagship with a frame covered by the precious metal.

We don’t know yet if the luxuriously appointed version of the device has been made by BlackBerry itself or a third-party. Samsung: Power Sharing Cable allows you to charge devices

Samsung is launching a new microUSB to microUSB power cable that lets you charge your gadgets by drawing power from your Galaxy smartphone or tablet. The cable has an arrow indication to show the power flow and officially works with the Galaxy S 5, Galaxy Tab S 10.5, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Avant and Galaxy Note 4.

Sony foresees $1.2 billion loss from its smartphone business

Sony has shared some bad news regarding its financial quarter forecast. The company is expecting its losses to quadruple due to "impairment" in its smartphone business. More specifically, in the summer of 2014, the company reviewed its stance on the mid-range smartphone segment and concluded that results weren't as bright as anticipated.

As a result, Sony expects its Mobile Communications segment to lose $1.2 billion (180 billion yen). A cringing number indeed, which has made the company reevaluate its stance on the smartphone division. No longer will Sony seek significant sales growth, but instead focus on reducing risk, volatility and return more stable profits.

BlackBerry Announces BBM is Coming to Andriod on the 21st & iOS on September 22nd

That’s right BBM fans — the iconic mobile social network will begin rolling out for Android and iPhone customers around the world from September 21. Soon, you’ll be able to easily connect with friends on different platforms. As you may know BBM was previously exclusive to BlackBerry smartphones, and it will be available as a free download in Google Play and the App Store.
