The PlayStation 4 is a hot piece of tech and as such it simply couldn’t avoid being torn to bits and pieces by the ifixit team. While you probably wouldn’t have guessed it given the relatively
modest size, the latest Sony console is quite easy to repair at home.
No adhesive was used for putting the PS4 together, which means taking
it apart and putting it back together is quite easy (although it does
void your warranty).
The only problem was that the metal mid-plane is very sharp – an
issue the teardown guy found the hard way. If you can get past that
however you will be able to replace just about every component of your
console without taking it to a service center.
